Kareena has the specialised genes of the legendary Raj Kapoor and stalwart Prithviraj Kapoor inside her. That's why she's so successful in both her career and domestic life.
Her career began in the year 2000 with the movie 'Refugee'. And both through her networking skills and well-groomed self she has made it big in the film industry. She's the begum of Pataudi and a doting mother to her two kids Taimur and Jehangir. So, what we can learn from her life:
👉 Taking the right decisions at the right time. Her career-debut, marriage, kids were all at the right time. These increased her confidence and the public-image.
👉 The film-critics appreciated her hardwork. So in the eyes of the film-circuit and among the loyal bollywood fans, she gained a lot of respect.
👉 She made all the efforts to look good, or should we say gorgeous. She had the milky fair skin of the Kapoors right since the day she was born. Her team of top fashion designers, makeup persons and hair-care specialists made her beautiful all the time.
👉 She knew right since the begining that money was important. She didn't ever waste what she could have got. Right from marrying a super-rich Nawab to being Karan Johar's friend and her work-clause of working only with A-list male colleagues, thinking and doing things with a calm and well-planned mind bore her rich results.
👉 Gen Z adores her. ie the current educated, choc-a-block scheduled youth, which forms the major part of the ardent moviegoers, like her. She is a career-woman, a wife and a mother. That's called multitasking and she's doing that well. That's what the current youth looks for in their would be girlfriend or wife. A masterstroke. So she's their icon.
👉 Although she's from a broken home, she herself valued her family-members very much. Right since her idol, sister Karisma, and mom Babita's care, views, opinions, rules and decisions she depended upon the right life-coaches right since her childhood. Even her father openly stated on camera that the secret behind the successes of the two sisters is the hardwork of their mom.
👉 She doesn't fully depend on the men in her life. This is a very Gen Z thing. Her mom instilled this quality in her right since the beginning. Babita was at the peak of her career when at age twenty one she got married and left her career. She faced a lot of financial hardships and her husband didn't co-operate either. So both the sisters were trained to keep men as secondary. Their own career, money and health are considered as above all.
👉 Her me-time is important for her. Whether its holidaying in Gstad in Switzerland, her set of girl-buddies who are also very fashionable and in, wine and dressing up, she does take out time for herself. And after recharging well, hits back to the sets.
👉 Her daily dose of workout and yoga is followed religiously. 108 surya namaskar, yoga and working out in the gym gives her enough strength to be stress-free.
Nothing like hardwork and proper meticulous planning in today's world. We can learn a lot from this woman. From size-zero to rich, young and multitasking today's woman, all city women should sit down and ponder 'Why can't I be like her ?', 'What went wrong in my life ?', 'Why doesn't my husband love me with all his heart ?', 'What should I do to look so beautiful as her ?', 'Even though she suffered a lot of setbacks in her career early on, what magic did she do, to give so many blockbusters later on ?', 'How to live with so much respect and dignity in the bad bad glamour world ?'... and the list goes on.
There may be toxicity in the life of every middle class woman, God doesn't close all the doors at the same time. Think and discuss your bad career if you have one, with the relatives, friends, colleagues or neighbours who are really good and mean good to you. Having your own money does help in a real real bigger way. In today's big cities, being financially self-dependent does exuberate a lot of positive vibes, both in the maternal and marital home. Don't depend on men for emotional support. Love thyself and dig out the internet and contacts department to some or the other money-churning job. Mine is designing sarees, blogging and writing stories. Does it really get me the money ? No, it doesn't. But in my heart somewhere tucked deep inside, there's my inner voice telling me, that my future is good, I just need to muster up courage and discuss with the right people.
So, ending on a bright note and summing up all the gyaan for today, I'll queue up in the line for 'Singham Again'. 'Fulwanti' is another movie coming up, where a Lavni-dancer during the times of the Peshwas, with her mastery over the craft, dignity and confidence wins over the orthodox Marathi society. So counting the days backwards to rush to the theatres, this is me signing off with a smile.
So bye bye babies and babaas, until we meet again...
