Watch this πŸ‘†. Neeta Lulla is my favourite Bollywood designer. She has dressed Madhuri Dixit in Hum Aapke Hain Koun. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Devdas, Jodha Akbar and so on. When I saw these costumes on these legendary beauties it looked stunning. Not only were the movies blockbusters but these iconic costumes took their career to another level.

I personally had tried to be a saree designer for six years. I've designed more than ten sarees. I loved all my creations. But didn't receive any upfront orders to take this profession full time. Let's discuss about my tastes in saree-fashion.

Q1 Given a choice, what would you design for Aishwarya Rai Bachchan now ?

Ans. I would drape her in a light pink tissue saree drenched in medium sized white and semi-medium sized light pink pearls. There would be floral motifs with white pearl in middle surrounded by light pink pearls. There would also be semi big sized steel sequins in between the motifs arrangement. The saree won't have any borders. There would be same coloured bigger sized pearl flower shaped arrangement, along with same semi big sized steel sequins in between the motifs in the pallu. The blouse would have mega sleeves, and dori arranged in the top to bottom middle area of her back. Total four doris. It would have the same motif arrangement as the body of the saree.

The makeup should be subtle with the hair kept open and with curls in the end. The colour of the hair should be kept black. Event preferably can be a visit to some iconic temple. Jewellery should be white and light pink pearl bracelet on right hand. Silver watch on left hand with medium sized white pearl studs for the ears.

Q2 Given a choice, what would you design for Madhuri Dixit Nene now ?

Ans. I would design Madhuri in a high quality parachute blue satin saree. The saree should have medium sized same colour pearls all over within close proximity of each other. No separate pallu design. The blouse would be short sleeves and made of the same material. There would not be pearls on its body. But there would be piping of the same coloured and same sized pearls all around the neck front and back. There would be similar piping on the edges of both the sleeves. The blouse would have deep back.

The make up should be subtle. Light pink gloss lipstick. Hair would be her iconic step-cut long open. Colour of her hair should be black. Event can be dance reality show judging. Simple same coloured studs and same coloured same sized pearl bracelet on the right hand and shimmering steel watch on the left hand.

Q3 Given a choice how would you design for Kajol now ?

Ans. I would dress her in chrome yellow bandhani chiffon saree. On chrome yellow background it would have white big square bandhni motifs all over the body. It would have three-fourth sleeved, deep back blouse with katori neck in the front. The blouse would have small sized white square bandhni print motifs on chrome yellow background all over, again the material made of chiffon.

She would wear white diamond studs and white diamond bracelet on right hand and steel watch on the left hand. The hair let loose and subtle makeup with pink gloss lipstick. Event would be ribbon-cutting of a plush showroom.

Q4 How would you design for your mother ?

Ans. I would give her a lemon yellow Calcutta handloom saree. It would have traditional print in green, red and gold. The blouse should be simple with half sleeves, medium back and medium round front neck. It would have red, green and gold piping on the edges of the sleeves.

The hair would be buckle-clipped at the back. She would be wearing off-white pearl studs and medium lengthed three strings chain with rectangular same coloured pearl pendant. Two off-white coloured pearl bangles on the right wrist and gold watch on the left wrist. Event would be a temple visit.

Q5 How would you design for your daughter ?

Ans. Well, she's a thirteen year old. Offwhite full sleeved round necked T-shirt with the print in black 'I'm great'. With beige sweat pants.

Hair in a middle back of the head pony tail. No make up. Steel watch on the left wrist. Off-white pearl studs. No bracelet. Event school teenage friend birthday party.

Q6 How would you design for yourself now ?

Ans. Dull dark green sweatpants. Dark green button down shirt.

Subtle makeup brown lipstick. Hair tied up with a claw clip black in colour. Dark green steel metal studs. Green and white danglers in a steel bracelet on the right wrist and steel stylish watch on the left wrist.

I'm happy with whatever I've written. I don't consider myself fashion-illiterate. But fashion is actually something which differs from person to person and should be more encouraged to be according to the place and occasion.

You should wear what suits you. Child, teenage, youth, middle age and aged are different dressing up styles. Your skin colour and body shape and the current general dressing trend also should influence on how you dress.

I myself dress as per my comfort and mood on daily basis. Cotton or viscose pants with long T-shirts are my home wear staples.

Hats off to the modern city woman ! You can dress the way you're comfortable in. So go ahead and care a damn about the world...

Bye for now and will be back soon with some new topics to vie for. Chow guys.
